Recently I brought some new OPI nail polishes and I just wanted to show you guys some of my favorites. p.s sorry about the late but I just got back to school so i'm just settling back in.
I get strangely excited about nail polish. It is really important to me because I spend so long doing my nails so that they are perfect or as good as I can get them (i'm still working on getting better, hopefully it's only uphill from here.)
I find that OPI nail polishes are worth spending more for because they last me ages because they are so highly pigmented which means I never need to apply more than two coats. I know some people have different opinions but I find that compared to other brands it is a lot better quality and there is a great range of colors and textures. If you can't afford OPI nail polishes I would buy the topcoat because then you can use any brand underneath but it will still last and your nails will be left with a beautiful shine however I still prefer to use the OPI nail polishes and the OPI top coat as well.
So let's jump into my top 5 OPI polishes.
I love this nail polish because I think that you can wear silver with almost everything so I don't need to link my outfit with it and the nail polish glistens in the sun. It is super easy to apply because it only needs one coat and I find that cleaning up around my nails was super easy as well. I haven't removed it yet so i'm not sure what it will be like when I remove it because I know with some colors it does take a while to get rid of but hopefully it won't leave a line around the edges of my nails.
#2 Peace & Love & OPI
I love this one because it sort of changes colors in the sun i'm not sure how to explain it but all the colors in it like the golds the purples and the blues blend in together and they look really cool on your nails this one is also highly pigmented so you only need one coat(yay) so if any of you are searching for a new color this would be it.
#3 All I want for Christmas is (OPI)
Everyone needs a classic red and for me this is it. I got this polish for Christmas(seems appropriate) and I have loved it ever since it does need a few more coats but it is worth it. once you've taken it off though I am often left with red hands however I think with any red polish this usually happens. There are some done sides but I would say for a classic red this is the one.
#4 Honey Rider
This polish does need more than one coat but I have found that it looks fantastic and if it chips you can just apply more in that area and you can't even tell because it is a liquid sand polish. This looks great in the sun and I think it looks absolutely fantastic it does chip a lot but as I said that can be easily fixed. however removal is a challenge it takes a long time and you re often left with glitter on your hands(something to keep in mind).
#5 Tickle my France
Although it has an odd name it is a very good polish. I love this color because I think it is really subtle for when I don't feel like going for a red or a gold. I think a lot of different ages could wear this and it comes off really easily but you do need more than one coat. It goes with everything and even though it is 5th it is still one of the best polishes I own.
Base and Top coat : when it comes to my base and top coats I am quite fussy because originally I didn't use a base coat and it made my nails really weak, they got lines in them(which I am still getting rid of) and they would constantly break leaving my nails uneven but while I was in Kirks (Kirkcaldie and Stains) I found the two in one bass and top coat it also strengthens your nails and since I bought it I have never looked back. It is the same price as the usual OPI polishes but its two in one so why not try it. You may be thinking why bother putting on base coat but trust me your nails will thank you later.
I hope this has helped some of you, i'd love to hear any favorites you have or any suggestions of good nail polish brands in the comments.
Lots of Love
Zoe
